Cold Alert: Warm Blankets, Coats urgently needed to Protect Homeless

 

Orleans: For Immediate Release January 10, 2014: Effective immediately and through February 28th, HPC is collecting blankets, coats, hats and gloves to distribute to those homeless living on the streets. Donations can be dropped off at 14 Old Tote Road in Orleans between 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday (with the exception of January 20th and February 17th).

 

Clean, gently used warm blankets and sleeping bags are needed: but please NO afghans or sheets. Also needed are adult-sized clean warm gently used coats, gloves and hats, sweatshirts, sweatpants and jeans (no lightweight trousers).  All items will be distributed Cape-wide.

 

Cash donations are also accepted and will be used specifically for this program. Volunteers who may be able to help with sorting and delivery can email info@hpccapecod.org or leave a voice message at 508-255-9667 extension 12.

The Homeless Prevention Council works everyday to keep people in their homes and their communities. We are aware of the unique problems and assets of each community we serve and, through one-on-one case management, use every resource available to create individual solutions to the many problems encountered.

We collaborate with other advocacy groups, town agencies and churches to help people access food, clothing, furniture, transportation, housing and other needs. We serve the residents of the eight towns of Lower / Outer Cape Cod on a non-sectarian, non-discriminatory basis.
